5 Reasons You'll LOVE it:

5 Reasons You'll HATE it:

The people

Shelburne is a small town with a big sense of community.

Because Shelburne is further north and at a much higher elevation than the GTA, winters are much colder. There is also significantly more snow accumulation.

Peace & quiet

Enjoy the sounds of nature instead of sounds of the city.

Although Shelburne is starting to see the addition of more stores and amenities, trips to Alliston or Orangeville are often required.

rapid growth

With rapid growth comes growing pains, things such as over-populated schools and ongoing construction as the town works to keep up.

In the heart of things

Centrally located between Brampton, Barrie, Guelph and Collingwood, residents of Shelburne are always less than an hour away from their next adventure.

Due to rapid expansion, the amount of new developments put a strain on the wastewater system in town causing occasional unpleasant odours.

Winter recreation

Residents of Shelburne embrace the snow and have even learned to love it. Located so close to a number of Ontario’s best ski resorts and home to some of the best snowmobile trails.

Due to the high elevation, Shelburne is almost always windy.  This can cause difficult driving conditions in the winter and cause damage to roofs and siding.
